Yoga - more than just a practice on the mat.
During my travels I repeatedly came into contact with yoga in different countries such as India, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Through these experiences, I noticed how beneficial the practice of yoga was on my body. I gained more and more flexibility and strength. But I didn't just feel a change physically. For me, yoga became much more than just practicing on the mat.
What do I mean by that? I became more and more balanced and calm and learned to pay full attention to my body in order to be able to listen to it. I am of the opinion that in our fast-moving times it is very important to pay attention to what´s good for you and what isn´t - so be careful with yourself. Many people learn from an early age to suppress feelings and stay “strong”, which was also my previous attitude. When the body gives the first signs and wants to say something, it is often suppressed. Yoga teaches you to deal with this.
Above all, it's about leaving everyday stress aside and taking a step back. Regular practice has also eliminated physical pain for me.
Yoga is an attitude to life that gives me strength and power for my life and my actions. I spend a lot of time in the nature and in the mountains, often for days. My regular yoga practice helps me to get ready for these adventures - both physically and mentally. When I'm on my way out there, nature is the most beautiful place for me to practice yoga.
